The crowds gathered to celebrate the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl victory on Wednesday morning had front row viewing to a police chase along the parade route.
The suspects car broke through a barrier along the parade route around 8:12 a.m., near the start of the parade. Police could be seen immediately trying to approach the vehicle on foot before other officers gave chase in multiple police vehicles.

The suspect car drove chaotically along the parade route before the chase ended when police vehicles pinned the car along the side of the parade route.

Police quickly surrounded the suspect car and were seen with weapons drawn.
The Kansas City Police Department reported it had taken two suspects into custody after the incident. Police said they deploying spike strips to slow the vehicle and stopped it with a PIT maneuver.

Police also revealed the suspect driver is under investigation for driving while impaired. Officers said they found no weapons or indications the incident was connected to terrorist activity.
The police department indicated there were no injuries following the chase and the car crash. They indicated the parade route was secure ahead of the city’s Super Bowl celebration.
