A Florida man wearing only underwear was arrested Wednesday after breaking into a former military officer’s Apopka apartment, authorities said.
Zachary Helton, 19, was taken to Seminole County Jail and faces multiple charges: burglary with assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment, criminal mischief, resisting an officer and battery, according to county records.
Candice Barnes was home with her mother when Helton swam up to the porch and demanded to go inside , according to a report by FOX 35.
Helton is then accused of shoving his way inside, past the women, telling them they couldn’t leave.
Barnes, a former military officer, didn’t have a gun, but was prepared to defend herself using a kitchen knife, FOX 35 reported.
Barnes grabbed the knife, wrestled Helton into a corner, and waited for Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies to arrive, according to the report.
