A Southlake man who started seven games for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s was found not guilty in a kickback scheme that scammed the military’s insurance program out of more than $100 million.
Michael John Kiselak, 52, who signed with the Cowboys in 1998 and started seven games at center, was acquitted by a federal jury in Dallas in a health care fraud case tied to prescription creams to treat pain and scars.
He was one of 12 defendants charged in 2016 with violating the Anti-Kickback Statute and conspiracy to defraud Tricare, the federal program that provides health care to active duty military service members and veterans.
The jury acquitted Kiselak on both counts.
According to a news release, Kiselak worked in marketing for CMGRX LLC, which provided military members and their families with specially made pain creams and scar creams.
Kiselak also played for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League and had CFL stints for the Sacramento Gold Miners, San Antonio Texans and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
