A 30-year-old Florida man who fatally shot his parents and two family dogs walked into the police department with blood on his shirt to admit to the crime, authorities in the Panhandle said Wednesday.

Jacob Daniel Price, who lives near Crestview, “is charged with two counts of premeditated murder in the deaths of his mother and father early Wednesday morning,” the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that Price is a former Marine deployed twice during Operation Enduring Freedom, according to Marine Corps spokeswoman Yvonne Carlock, who says Price left the service because his character “was incongruent with Marine Corps’ expectations and standards.”

Authorities said he entered the Crestview Police Department lobby shortly after 4 a.m.

Deputies went to the home to find Robert Price, 56, and Jolene Price, 51, dead in the master bedroom of their four-bedroom home about five miles north of Crestview.

Two dead dogs were also in the home, along with two unharmed German Shepherds.

Jacob Price also faces two counts of aggravated animal cruelty.

Authorities say they don’t know his motive.
