A baby was shot across its bedroom when an allegedly drunk driver crashed his SUV through a wall and smashed into the cradle in which the infant was sleeping.

The child was somehow unharmed, according to the Oregonian, which reported Tyler Cole Eiman abandoned his smashed-up Nissan Pathfinder and fled on foot after hitting the Eugene, Ore., residence.. Cops who cited alcohol as “a possible factor” in the accident caught up to the 27-year-old driver and took him to an area hospital for “minor injuries,” according to the report.

A mugshot of Eiman appeared to show him with two black eyes. He was reportedly arrested after receiving treatment and booked on charges including DUI, hit-and-run, second-degree assault and six counts of reckless endangerment.

Eiman and his SUV came crashing into the unidentified infant’s apartment Tuesday around 8 p.m., according to the report. There were said to be two passengers in the Colorado man’s vehicle at the time of the collision, one of whom also suffered minor injuries.

Oregonian readers reacted harshly to Eiman’s mug shot, writing on the news outlet’s site that the driver’s smashed up face looked like that of a “lost soul.” Others speculated about how he got two black eyes.

“That is an award-winning mugshot,” wrote one reader.
