In two separate incidents, illegal immigrants received minimal prison sentences for convictions of murder and child rape.
Mexican immigrant Eduardo de la Lima Vargas received just 12 years in prison for driving drunk in Marion County, Oregon and killing a young couple in August 2018, while Valentin Ariosto Alfonso-Arguello was sentenced to 20 years with eight years suspended for raping a 12-year-old girl, Breitbart News reported.
De La Lima-Vargas was driving with a blood-alcohol level of .10 when he crashed into a motorcycle ridden by Logan and Jessica Wilson, and pinned it under his truck, killing them both.
The Wilsons left behind three young children. The family is outraged over the sentence.

Family members of the victims told the Statesman Journal, “the fact that De La Lima-Vargas would be housed and fed by the government and allowed to see his family while incarcerated felt like a “slap in the face.”
Mariah Turnidge, Logan Wilson’s sister, said, “He is an incredibly selfish, immoral person.” She added that he could have “called a cab or slept in his vehicle the night of the crash.”
Marion County is a sanctuary city, which could explain the leniency.
In the second incident of a minimum prison sentence, another illegal alien received Mississippi’s 20-year minimum sentence for statutory rape.
Valentin Ariosto Alfonso-Arguello, 38, forced a 12-year-old girl to give him her phone number and then raped her in his truck. He was found guilty and sentenced, with eight of his 20-year sentence suspended. He will be deported after he is released.
These two cases are not isolated incidents, just two of the many.
In 2018, “ICE agents arrested more than 1,640 illegal aliens convicted of murder, nearly 5,000 convicted of child sex abuse, and more than 54,600 who were convicted of drunk driving. Most illegal aliens of the possible 22 million, never get deported,” Breitbart said.
According to Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), since April of this year, some of the illegal immigrants that have been arrested include, Miguel Martinez who was arrested in Louisiana on April 2, for 100 counts of possession of pornography of children under the age of 13, one count of production of child pornography, and one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 13. Martinez is an illegal who was deported in 2005 in the sanctuary state of California.
A 13-year-old girl, Mariana Pérez Borroto, was killed after being struck by a vehicle while she was riding her bike to school in Florida. Micaela Coronel was driving without a license when she killed Borroto. She is set to be deported after ICE put a detainer on her.
Laura Rosas, an illegal alien, ran over Emmanuel Ramirez twice in Texas, killing him on April 8. She has been charged with murder and ICE placed a detainer on her.
Guatemalan migrant Juan Francisco committed a hit and run on April 8 resulting in the death of Debbie Burgess in Tennessee. Francisco had a lengthy criminal record, including a current warrant. Although his status was listed as illegal, he was never deported and remains on the run.
