On Monday morning, a Vicksburg, Miss. teenager shot and killed an armed intruder with the intruder’s own gun.

“A 19-year-old came home from work and noticed the back door was unsecured. About that time, a man with a gun came out of one of the bedrooms,” Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said, according to WAPT 16.

The homeowner and the intruder reportedly got into a scuffle and the homeowner was able to get the gun away from the suspect.

Once the homeowner took control of the weapon, he shot the suspect several times. The suspect was then transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Malcolm Robertson, used to date the 19-year-old’s sister. After the pair broke up, she took out a restraining order against him, which expired April 8, according to Magnolia State Live.

Neither she nor the mother were home at the time of the break-in.

Several other incidents of homeowners fatally shooting armed intruders have taken place recently.

On the same day, an alleged burglar was shot and killed by a homeowner around 2:20 a.m. in Washington state, according to Fox News.

He was awoken to the suspect in his White Center home, according to King County Sheriff’s Office. He then shot the suspect while on the phone with 911.

King County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Abbott said, “Initially he thought there were three suspects. So far, the investigation is proving that not to be true, it just appears to be one suspect that acted alone at this time.”

Abbott added, “You have every right to protect yourself or your family if you’re in fear for your life or safety, and it appears that’s what happened in this instance so far.”

In late March, a very similar incident occurred in Phoenix, Ariz.

When two suspects tried to break into a home around 1 a.m., the homeowner shot both suspects, seriously wounding one and killing the other, AZ Family reported.

The suspect that was killed was identified as 34-year-old Michael Ahumada, and the wounded suspect was in critical condition.

The homeowner said, “If they come in…better come in ready.

On the morning of Easter Sunday, a San Antonio homeowner shot and killed an intruder he found in his garage, CBS Austin reported.

The incident took place at the Jax Apartments around 3:15 a.m., when the homeowner returned home and was parking his vehicle in his garage.

The suspect started pistol-whipping the homeowner, who pulled his gun, shooting and killing him. The suspect died in the garage.

Also, on Easter, an intruder in Tennessee was shot and killed by the homeowner.

When police arrived on the scene, they found John Whitehead dead in the home, News Channel 5 reported.

Whitehead, who reportedly suffered from mental illness, showed up at the house the day before. He seemed out of sorts and claimed to know the family. He returned the following day and broke in.
