All departing flights from Heathrow Airport in London have been halted after a drone was reportedly sighted.

The airport tweeted about the possible drone sighting, confirming the activity.
“We are responding to a drone sighting at Heathrow and are working closely with the Met Police to prevent any threat to operational safety. As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause,” the airport wrote Tuesday.

An airport spokeswoman told the BBC that traffic was temporarily halted to “prevent any threat to operational safety.”
“As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologize to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause,” the spokeswoman added.
