UPDATE, 3:30 p.m. EST – Emirates Airline tweeted that all passengers disembarked from the flight that had landed at JFK International Airport Wednesday morning and had been quarantined after dozens of passengers reported feeling ill.

“All passengers were screened by local health authorities prior to disembarkation. 3 passengers & 7 crew were transferred to the hospital for further medical care and evaluation,” Emirates said.

“All other passengers were allowed to leave and clear customs,” they added.

Because of the delay, the return flight to Dubai was delayed about three hours, Emirates said.

“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused. The safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always our top priority,” they added.

An Emirates plane from Dubai has landed at JFK International Airport in Queens, New York, after dozens of passengers have fallen “seriously ill” and are now quarantined on the plane.

The plane is being held at the terminal, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Port Authority Police are responding to the scene and will set up a staging area to examine passengers, CBS News reported Wednesday.

More than 100 passengers reported feeling “seriously ill,” RT reported.

The flight, Emirates 203, landed at 8:50 a.m. local time, RT reported.

The pilot expressed “concerns over dozens of passengers sick with fevers over 100 degrees and coughing, according to local reports,” RT said.

ABC News reported that the passengers who fell ill will be triaged and treated.
