UPDATE, 3:30 p.m. EST – Emirates Airline tweeted that all passengers disembarked from the flight that had landed at JFK International Airport Wednesday morning and had been quarantined after dozens of passengers reported feeling ill.
“All passengers were screened by local health authorities prior to disembarkation. 3 passengers & 7 crew were transferred to the hospital for further medical care and evaluation,” Emirates said.

“All other passengers were allowed to leave and clear customs,” they added.

Because of the delay, the return flight to Dubai was delayed about three hours, Emirates said.
Due to the delay with #EK203, the return flight EK204 from New York JFK to Dubai will be delayed by approx. 3 hours. Passengers with connecting flights in Dubai who are impacted by the delay will be assisted with rebookings by our local ground staff. 3/4

An Emirates plane from Dubai has landed at JFK International Airport in Queens, New York, after dozens of passengers have fallen “seriously ill” and are now quarantined on the plane.
The plane is being held at the terminal, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Port Authority Police are responding to the scene and will set up a staging area to examine passengers, CBS News reported Wednesday.

The flight, Emirates 203, landed at 8:50 a.m. local time, RT reported.
The pilot expressed “concerns over dozens of passengers sick with fevers over 100 degrees and coughing, according to local reports,” RT said.
ABC News reported that the passengers who fell ill will be triaged and treated.
