Every year, this military family comes to their hometown Fourth of July Parade to watch and enjoy the festivities.
The family has held the tradition for more than 25 years, but in 2016, the parade was very different for them.
At the beginning of the parade, the Color Guard marches and the family holds their hand over their hearts in respect to the military.
In 2016, two of the family’s son who serve in the military were actually among the Color Guard marching in the parade – it was a total surprise.
The parents did not realize that their two sons were home and marching in the Color Guard until the two sons walked right up to them as the rest of the Color Guard walked by.
The parents thought that they were both at their respective bases.
One of the sons is an officer in the U.S. Army while the other is an officer in the U.S. Navy.
Their was filming the parade to send to them. As it turns out, the parade was much better than they expected.
