A man shot one of two intruders holding his wife at gunpoint Tuesday night after they forcefully entered his southeast Houston home, police said.
The incident occurred after the woman arrived home at about 10:30 p.m, Houston’s KHOU-TV reported. Police said the two attackers took her purse while in the driveway and then tried to get her inside the house.
Her husband heard the struggle, grabbed his gun and fired at the intruders. One of the robbers was shot in the head during an exchange of gunfire, the station reported.
The wounded individual required surgery and his condition was reported as unknown. The other intruder escaped, police said.
