An 88-year-old Navy veteran who served in the Korean War recently reached out to the Pembroke Pines Police Department in Florida, asking if he could try their night-vision goggles before completely losing his sight.
Stanley Gold has lost 75 percent of his sight, and in a short time he will be completely blind.
Members of the PPPD SWAT showed up at Gold’s house last week to fulfill his request, Fox 13 News reported.
A video posted on Twitter shows Gold wearing the night vision goggles and an officer standing next to him.
“Are you ready to go to work,” the officer asks him.
“I already spent 37 years at the Post Office,” Gold replied with a laugh.
