The body of a deployed U.S. soldier’s wife was discovered inside her Georgia home on Fort Stewart by military police, following a wellness check request from a concerned relative.

Military police are treating this as an active homicide investigation and are searching for someone they think could be connected to the crime or have information about what happened on Tuesday night, around 9 p.m., according to Fort Stewart officials.

Special agents are searching for the driver of a black 2018 Honda Accord with the Georgia license plate RLQ1762, WTOC reported.

They haven’t said whether or not this is a suspect – just that the driver might have information about the death.

Anyone with information on the vehicle should contact authorities.

Officials have not yet released the name of the victim nor the deployed soldier.
