UFC fighter Conor McGregor posted a photo to social media of himself meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Sunday, he wrote: “Today I was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This man is one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to attend such a landmark event alongside him. Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin. Thank you and congratulations on an amazing World Cup.”
McGregor had posted another photo of himself at the World Cup, which took place in Russia.
President Donald Trump met with Putin on Monday in Helsinki, Finland.
Both leaders later characterized the summit as “successful,” and Trump congratulated Putin on hosting the World Cup and for the Russian team doing well.
