A Vietnam War-era veteran died last week from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot of a Kansas VA medical hospital last week.
Michael Douglas, 69, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 4 p.m. last Wednesday in the emergency department parking lot of the Eisenhower VA Medical Center, according to a statement from Joseph Burks, a public affairs officer for VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System, the Leavenworth Times reported.

Douglas was pronounced dead after receiving medical treatment at the scene.
