Saudi Arabia has taken satellite images of the moon as part of a joint space mission with China.
May 20 saw the launch of the Zhang E4 mission to the moon from the Chinese city of Xichang.
The King Abdul Aziz City of Science and Technology (KACST) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) signed an agreement for Saudi Arabia to contribute to and participate in the Chinese-led mission.
KACST President Prince Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed congratulated King Salman on the success of the joint lunar mission.
The KACST’s participation will support its efforts to develop satellite technologies and use them in various fields, such as remote sensing and space communications, Prince Turki said.
