Foul play is not suspected in the weekend death of an airman assigned to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.
The servicemember was found unresponsive early Sunday, an Air Force statement said. Local law enforcement “immediately responded” to the scene and took the airman to U.S. Naval Hospital Guam, where the individual was pronounced dead just before 4 a.m.
“Local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death but foul play is not suspected,” the statement said.
Officials at Anderson declined to provide further details, including where the airman was found or who had alerted authorities.
The servicemember’s identity will be released 24 hours after family members have been notified, the Air Force statement said.
