[UPDATE: 12:12 p.m. EST] The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has told ABC 7 that one student has been wounded after a shooting at Highland High School; the gunshot victim was taken to a hospital.
ABC 7 said the teenage boy, 17, was shot through the forearm.

Authorities on Friday responded to reports of a possible shooting at Highland High School in Palmdale, California, NBC Los Angeles reported.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that deputies responded to the scene.
Firefighter-paramedics also responded to the high school, having received a report of a gunshot wound to an individual.
Deputies responded to reports of “shots heard” at nearby Manzanita Elementary School, but the school was cleared.
