The Global SOF Foundation will host its inaugural Modern Warfare Symposium at Fort Bragg later this year.
Commanders from across the Army special operations command and the larger force will be invited to the event, which will take place Aug. 21 to 23 at the Iron Mike Conference Center. It will be co-sponsored by U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
The Global SOF Foundation is a nonprofit organization that advocates on behalf of special operations forces.
Officials have invited several key leaders to participate in the symposium, including the commanders of USASOC, the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Army Special Operations Aviation Command, the Army Capabilities Integration Center, the Army Cyber Center of Excellence, the 18th Airborne Corps, Joint Special Operations Command and U.S. Special Operations Command.
Officials said the event is meant to convene subject matter experts from special operations, conventional units and academia for a discussion on the future of modern warfare.
Similar events have drawn hundreds of attendees from more than two dozen countries, officials said.
