In a dramatic presentation on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed hundreds of thousands of secret documents that he say proves Iran “brazenly lied” about its intentions for a nuclear weapons program, and that Iran is “still lying” and not holding up its terms of the nuclear deal forged in 2015.

“The Iran nuclear deal … is based on lies,” he said.

Standing on a stage with a huge screen that displayed a slide show, as well as bookshelves filled with dozens of binders of documents, Netanyahu told the world that Iran “lied about never having [intentions for] a nuclear weapons program.”

“We have 100,000 secret files to prove it,” he said.

The documents were obtained within the last 10 days, Fox News reported, and Netanyahu said the files had been moved to a “highly secret” location in Tehran.

There are more than 55,000 pages and 55,000 files on 183 compact discs.

“What I’ve shown you tonight is just a fraction of the total material we have. Even from this sample, you can draw four main conclusions,” Netanyahu said.

“Even after the [nuclear] deal, Iran continued to preserve and expand its nuclear weapons know-how for future use,” he explained. “Why would a terrorist regime hide and meticulously catalogue its files if not to use later?”

“Iran lied again in 2015 when it didn’t come clean as required by the nuclear deal,” the prime minister pointed out. “And finally, the Iran nuclear deal is based on lies. It’s based on Iranian lies and Iranian deception. We have 100,000 files right here prove that they lied.”

Netanyahu said the bottom line is that “Iran continues to lie.”

“The nuclear deal gives Iran a clear path to an atomic arsenal,” he said, which could include “unlimited [uranium] enrichment in a few years.”

And, the nuclear deal “completely fails to address Iran’s continued development of ballistic missiles,” Netanyahu said.

It also “completely fails to address Iran’s secret nuclear bomb program and its advanced work on weaponization,” he added.

“This is a terrible deal,” Netanyahu said. “In a few days time, President Trump will make his decision on what to do with the nuclear deal. I’m sure he’ll do the right thing. The right thing for the U.S., the right thing for Israel, and the right things for the peace of the world.”

The U.S. is facing a May 12 deadline to decide whether or not to remain in the Iran nuclear deal.

President Trump has long been critical of the Obama-era agreement, calling it an “embarrassment” and “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.”
