A new podcast, “Undiscovered Americans,” is set to launch May 1, and the duo behind it makes it rather unique and worth checking out.
One host is a former interpreter who now goes by the name “Johnny Walker.” He risked his life by conducting dangerous and clandestine operations with former Navy SEAL and “American Sniper” Chris Kyle and many other U.S. Navy SEALs in Iraq.
As chance would have it, Johnny and I were in the same part of Iraq in 2007 and walked some of the same streets. American Military News recently spoke to Johnny.
Though we never formally met in Iraq, it was incredible to reminisce about certain landmarks, danger zones and events that transpired at the time. Johnny is credited with more than a thousand missions with U.S. Forces and is extremely well-respected in the Special Operations community.
He is also the author of the book “Code Name: Johnny Walker,” and has been a strong supporter of the U.S. and its troops. This offers a rarely heard perspective of an Iraqi, and a Muslim man. Johnny has appeared on Fox News and NPR, among other outlets.
The other host of the show is “Mikey B.” He spent 20 years in the Army, of which nearly 80 percent was in the Army Special Forces, known as the Green Berets.
Mikey has worked alongside U.S. Navy SEALs, the CIA, Department of State, FBI and U.S. Secret Service. He has also taken on academic challenges and attended courses through Harvard’s Business Mentor Management Program and Wharton’s High Stakes Negotiation.
Through his exceptional resume and combat experience, Mikey has a wealth of knowledge and worldly perspective to offer. He also speaks two additional languages: Tagalog and Bahasa.
Johnny and Mikey recently told American Military News: “We want to bring the truth to the American people.”
They went on to say they feel a lot of information is misrepresented, and wanted to bring new insight and ways of thinking to the complicated matters facing most Americans today. They expressed their desire to have high-quality guests on their podcast, and to bring on people from different walks of life and experiences to get a broader perspective. Furthermore, they want to expose people to points of view they might not have otherwise known.
They said the podcast will be “no nonsense,” and their website even has a link to a “Hurt Feelings Report” for listeners who disagree.
It is scheduled to be a weekly podcast that can be found on iTunes, Google Play and other platforms. One thing is for sure, the anticipation is building for what these two men have to say.
