On Sunday, President Donald Trump took to Twitter and rapid-fired off a series of tweets about the recently fired former FBI official Andrew McCabe and former FBI Director James Comey. Trump had also tweeted and slammed McCabe on Saturday.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe late Friday night for misconduct at the recommendation of an internal, impartial FBI Department report from the Office of Professional Responsibility.
McCabe had been at the FBI for 22 years and recently was its Acting Director and Deputy Director.
The report is said to come to the conclusion that McCabe purposefully misled investigators about his role in directing other officials at the FBI to speak to The Wall Street Journal about his involvement in a public corruption investigation into the Clinton Foundation, according to a source briefed on it.
There are also external allegations that McCabe slow-walked and tried to shelve a FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton because McCabe’s wife received a just under $500,000 in political donations from a network of close Clinton allies.
Trump on Sunday went off in another series of tweets about the recent events.
Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G when asked “have you ever been an anonymous source…or known someone else to be an anonymous source…?” He said strongly “never, no.” He lied as shown clearly on @foxandfriends.

Comey on Saturday had tweeted: “Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.”

Trump’s Sunday tweets also referred to reports that McCabe has memos of his meetings with Trump.
He continued: “Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me. I don’t believe he made memos except to help his own agenda, probably at a later date. Same with lying James Comey. Can we call them Fake Memos?”

Trump also tweeted: “Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added… does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!”

Trump refers to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, as well as whether or not members of the Trump campaign had ties to Russia before Trump was sworn in as President.
Trump has long said the investigation is a “witch hunt.”
McCabe’s firing came just days before McCabe’s intended retirement, which would make him eligible to claim full retirement benefits.
Some people say the firing is unfair, and Sessions should have let McCabe retire on his own timeline; but others are applauding the firing and say government officials should not get special treatment.
