A “suspicious package” at the British parliament building has prompted an investigation on Tuesday, according to an RT report, and U.K. Metropolitan Police are looking into the “incident.”
“The police are currently investigating an incident on the parliamentary estate,” a House of Commons spokesperson told Reuters, RT reported.
There was reportedly “heavy police activity around [the] ministerial corridor.” The corridor sits below the House of Commons chamber and some government offices are located there, RT reported.

The building did not go on lock down or shut down, and no roads around the are were blocked off.
Parliament is currently in recess.
The House of Commons and House of Lords meet at the parliament building, the Palace of Westminster. The palace structure is commonly known as the House of Parliament.
