Two people are dead and at least 70 injured after an Amtrak passenger train collided with a CSX freight train, officials said.

The crash happened early Sunday morning in South Carolina. The train was en route from New York to Miami, and 147 people were on board.

At least 70 people were injured and brought to the hospital, Lexington County spokesman Harrison Cahill told CNN, adding that injuries ranged anywhere from “scratches to broken bones.”
And, authorities said about 5,000 gallons of fuel have been spilled due to the collision.

This is the third major Amtrak train crash in about three months, and the second deadly crash in only one week.
An Amtrak train carrying several Republican members of Congress on their way to a retreat in West Virginia hit a garbage truck and crashed Wednesday morning, and one person died. The fatality was not one of the lawmakers.
