I have always enjoyed the slim and lightweight handguns that Kahr Arms offers. I find their pistols to be extremely reliable and comfortable to carry. For years I have chosen to carry a Kahr Arms handgun as my everyday concealed carry firearm. There is just something about a Kahr Arms pistol that I find intriguing. It’s the accuracy, reliability and ease of carry offered by Kahr handguns that is as American as baseball and apple pie. I live by the saying: “If it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it.” So, I find no reason to chase after the newest, latest and greatest media-blitzed pistol that many shooters are running after.
This year, Kahr Arms is taking Cerakote and hydro dips to the next level. Several of their models are now offered with a carbon fiber finish or Kryptek hydro dip finish that not only looks unique but creates a “rubber-like” texture on the frame that adds to the comfort and control of the grip. My personal carry gun is a CW9 with a carbon fiber finish on the frame. I can say, with experience, that handling a pistol with added grip texture aides with positive control when firing the gun.
The Kahr Firearms Group partnered with Outlaw Ordnance to create the most creative and outright beautiful laser-etched Cerakote designs that I have ever seen. The video below features some incredible work that Outlaw Ordnance performed with the iconic Desert Eagle 1911 handguns to create true showpieces that any firearm enthusiast would love to possess in their collection. I especially appreciate the “We The People” artwork on the Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 that is patriotic personified. Yes, I am definitely planning to order that model.
Another unique series of firearms offered in 2018 from the Kahr Firearms Group is the John Tiegen, better known as the “Tig” series of guns. In an effort to assist wounded veterans as they face the many challenges encountered during rehabilitation, the healing process and reintegration into everyday life, John Tiegen and his wife started a foundation called Beyond The Battlefield. Part of the proceeds from the sales of the “Tig” series of firearms will be donated to the Beyond The Battlefield Foundation by the Kahr Firearms Group. The “Tig” series of firearms consists of a Kahr ST9 with a unique Kryptek hydro dip and black Cerakote slide, a full-size Desert Eagle chambered in .50 Action Express with a beautiful Cerakoted distressed bronze finish, and a classic Auto-Ordnance Thompson rifle chambered in .45 ACP. The limited production “Tig” series of firearms each have laser-etched inscriptions that detail the Tig logo, Beyond the Battlefield logo and the John Tiegen signature engraved on them.
