John J. “Jack” Sullivan of Rockland, formerly of Weymouth, a Marine Corps vet, died Sunday. He was 88.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
He was employed by New England Life Insurance for over 20 years until retirement in 1992 and previously worked as the director of catering at Statler Hilton Hotel in Boston.
Mr. Sullivan was a fourth-degree knight and member of the Weymouth Knights of Columbus, Council 5027 and the first coordinator of OLLI at University of Massachusetts.
He is survived by his wife Sally Ann (Styles); three sons, Kevin of Woburn, Brian of Whitman and Paul of Pembroke; a daughter, Eileen of Concord; a sister, Joanne Daly of Milton; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth.
Burial will be in Milton Cemetery, Weymouth.
