On Monday morning, police responded to a shooting at an Italy, Texas high school.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect is now in custody. The high school, as well as a nearby elementary school, were in lockdown.
It has since been reported that one female student, 15, was injured and taken to the hospital. Fox News also reported that the suspect is 16 years old.
The shooting took place around 8:00 am local time.
