A Texas cop has been shot and killed while serving a warrant.
The San Marcos Police Officer was serving a warrant Monday in the El Camino Real subdivision when he was shot multiple times, the city of San Marcos said in a release.
He was wearing his protective vest at the time.
The officer was transported to Central Texas Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m.
The officer’s next of kin is being notified.
The suspect is in custody following a standoff with authorities; the suspect was shot during the standoff and taken to an Austin hospital, the city said.
