This Veterans Day, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will offer veterans free slices of their Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake. They are also rallying guests to contribute to their campaign to support Operation Homefront, a nonprofit serving America’s military families since 2002.
Operation Homefront’s mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families so they can thrive — not struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.
Between Oct. 30 and Nov. 11, Cracker Barrel will donate 20 percent of proceeds from online and in-store purchases of Lodge cookware to Operation Homefront. Cracker Barrel currently sells 41 Lodge items, including cast iron skillets, dutch ovens and pot holders.
“Supporting America’s military is core to who we are and what we stand for,” Cracker Barrel Manager of Corporate Citizenship Sloane Lucas said. “We are fortunate to be able to partner with organizations like Operation Homefront to express our gratitude for the sacrifices America’s service members make for our country. We look forward to again welcoming the men and women who have served our nation, and we invite all of our guests to join with us in honoring them.”
This isn’t the first time Cracker Barrel has partnered with Operation Homefront.
For the past two summers, Cracker Barrel has held its annual Operation Rocker campaign. In 2016, they were able to donate 700 rocking chairs to veterans. They also partnered with Country Living for Flip It Forward Day, where 20 percent of the proceeds from Momma’s Pancake Breakfast go directly to Operation Homefront.
Last year, Cracker Barrel and the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation contributed more $430,000 to Operation Homefront. This year, to kick off the 2017 partnership, the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation awarded a $50,000 grant to Operation Homefront.
According to the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation, its main focus is supporting members of America’s armed forces and their families. Cracker Barrel and the Cracker Barrel Foundation have long-supported military-focused nonprofits and charitable initiatives, including Operation Homefront, the USO, the National Military Family Association, the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, United Through Reading and the National Museum of the United States Army, among many others.
