Republican Sen. John McCain was recently asked about his relationship with President Donald Trump – and it was likely not the answer a FOX reporter was expecting.
FOX’s Peter Doocy asked McCain this week if his relationship with Trump has “frayed” to where he could not support anything the President asked for.
McCain immediately reacted to Doocy’s question.
“Why would you say something that stupid? Why would you ask something that dumb,” the Senator asked.
“My job is a United States senator from Arizona, which I was just re-elected to,” McCain said.
“You mean I’m somehow going to behave in a way that I’m gonna block everything because of some personal disagreement? That’s a dumb question,” he adds, as he walks away.
McCain famously blocked the GOP’s effort to repeal ObamaCare in July; he was one of three Republicans to do vote agains the measure.
He most recently said he would block Trump’s nominees for Defense Department posts until the Administration provides details about its new strategy for the Afghanistan war.
