Russian President Vladimir Putin launched four ballistic missiles on Thursday, according to the Kremlin, multiple sources have reported.
The exercises are routine and not performed because of any “international events,” Peskov told reporters, Bloomberg reported.
Three ballistic missiles were shot from nuclear submarines, and one was fired from the northwest part of the country.
“The supreme commander-in-chief made launches of four ballistic missiles,” Peskov said Friday, USA TODAY reported.
“Russia’s Defense Ministry said Thursday that strategic bombers took off from three airbases and launched cruise missiles against ground targets at three practice ranges,” USA TODAY said.
In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said: “The training assignments were accomplished in full and all the practice targets were successfully destroyed,” USA TODAY reported.
