Hillary and Bill Clinton haven’t been speaking to one another for the past several months after getting into an argument over Hillary’s election book, titled “What Happened,” Page Six reported.
Hillary Clinton gave her husband a copy of her book to look at before giving it to her publisher, but when Bill made some corrections in red pencil, Hillary refused to read the corrections, a family friend told author Edward Klein, according to Page Six.
Bill Clinton reportedly tossed his copy of the book in the trash because he was so angry that Hillary refused to read his corrections, Page Six reported.
“He told her the book made her look bewildered, angry and confused, and that those were poor qualities in a person who aspired to be a world leader,” the friend said, according to Page Six.
“He hated the title because calling it ‘What Happened’ would only make people say: ‘You lost,'” the friend said, Page Six reported. “He urged her to postpone the [publication] date and rewrite the book, but she yelled at him and said, ‘The book is finished and that’s how it’s going to be published.'”
According to the friend, Bill and Hillary have been speaking only through friends and lawyers since then, Page Six reported.
The argument reportedly happened over the summer while Hillary was on tour promoting her book.
While on tour, she blamed Russian hackers, former FBI Director James Comey and others for her not winning the election.
According to Klein, who has written several books on the Clintons, Bill told Hillary that she needed to campaign in the Rust Belt states, but she told him that he was “delusional,” Page Six reported.
“Bill’s criticism – and what Hillary sees as his lack of sympathy – has driven a wedge between them,” the friend said, Page Six reported.
