A viral video online shows a soldier saving the life of a small puppy by performing CPR on it after it nearly drowned. The video has been viewed more than 12 million times.
The video, which was posted on Facebook last week by Tongchana Paeloy, shows Weeraphon Sukudom spending several minutes working to bring the puppy back to life by performing CPR, The Mirror reported.
The only days-old puppy was found by a group of recruits in a flooded garage on a Thai Army base. Those who discovered the animal believed the puppy to be dead due to the heavy flooding in Bangkok on Friday.
The soldier has since adopted the puppy and named it “Champion.”
“There was a lot of rain and the garage where the puppies were kept flooded,” he said, according to Newsflare. “We checked and one [puppy] was missing.”
”We found him floating in the water and started trying to save him,” he said. ‘”I learned CPR a long time ago but had never done it before on a human or animal. But I had to try to save the little dog.”
