There are several important steps to follow to get out of the vehicle safely before it is fully submerged under water, and one has trouble getting out of the vehicle in time before drowning.
When the vehicle is submerged, getting out through the door is extremely difficult because the pressure against the door due to the water becomes too much for a person to handle.
The steps to take are:
- Unbuckle the seatbelt.
- Roll down the window.
- Grab the children, if any.
- Get out of the vehicle.
