ISIS claims deadly terror attack in Barcelona: Van plowed down pedestrians, gunmen held hostages in restaurant

There has been a deadly terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and ISIS is claiming responsibility.
“The perpetrators of the Barcelona attack are soldiers of the Islamic State and carried out the operation in response to calls for targeting coalition states [‘referring to a United States-led coalition against the Sunni militant group’],” according to the group’s Amaq propaganda news agency, The Guardian reported.
Reports say 13 people are dead and at dozens of others injured after a van plowed down pedestrians in the Las Ramblas tourist district on Thursday.
Two gunmen then reportedly took hostages. Two people have since been arrested.
“Gunfire was heard at the Corte Ingles store in the area after police announced a ‘massive crash,’ ” The Daily Mail reported.
Graphic photos and videos are being posted to social media as authorities seek the driver of the van and gunmen.
Police have shut down the streets and stores there.
