Argument over military branches leads to stomping death

August 16, 2017

A man has been charged with murder for allegedly stomping a 57-year-old man to death over an argument about the branches of the military on Sunday, according to Texas police.

The Austin Police Department said they found Ross Barrow, 30, fighting with a man later identified as 57-year-old Allen Niedermann, who was seen motionless on the ground with Burrow stomping on him and kicking him.

Police said Barrow was seen allegedly picking Niedermann up by the back of his shirt before throwing him to ground, and then jumping in the air and stomping on Niedermann with his right foot.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services arrived on-scene, but were not able to save Niedermann’s life.

A witness said that Barrow and Niedermann were drinking and talking to one another about the military branches they served in. The witness added that the two men became heated when Barrow said he was going to kill Niedermann before jumping him.

Barrow is charged with first degree murder and is being held on $100,000 bail.

It is not clear which branch either man served in.
