Apple and country star Brantley Gilbert have teamed up to create an Apple Music commercial that strays from its normal path of being more modern and futuristic.
In one of Apple’s latest commercials, Apple focuses on the heartland of America for its music streaming service.
Debuting during NASCAR racing on NBC, singer Brantley Gilbert stands in the middle of a field on a farm during the opening scene. In his voiceover, he says: “I love the feeling out here. The freedom. The simplicity. The open road.”
The commercial then breaks out to him and his friends on motorcycles on the open road near Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, after he plays the song “The Ones That Like Me” on his iPhone.
“This is my home. No matter where I go, my heart stays here. My friends, my family, this country,” the voiceover continues.
One of the final images of the commercial is of an American flag draped on the side of a barn.
Gilbert said in a press release that he usually doesn’t do commercials, but when Apple told him they wanted to capture his lifestyle in the commercial, he agreed to do it.
“When we started talking to the folks at Apple, they were saying, ‘We want to capture you, the way you live and the values you hold,” Gilbert said, Mashable reported. “‘We want people to see your world, show them what you hear and respond to. If they see you, it says everything.'”
