The newest trailer for “Blade Runner 2049,” released on Monday, reveals more insight into the sequel of Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic “Blade Runner.”
“Blade Runner 2049” takes place 30 years after the original film where LAPD Officer K, played by Ryan Gosling, unearths a secret that could change the course of history. The adventure leads him to Rick Deckard, the main character in the original film played by Harrison Ford, who had disappeared for the past 30 years.
In the latest trailer, Deckard gives some insight as to why he may have gone into hiding for the past three decades.
“I covered my tracks. Scrambled the records. We were being hunted,” Deckard says.
Jared Leto plays Neander Wallace, a replicant manufacturer who appears to play an antagonist in the film.
“Every leap of civilization was built off the back of the slaves,” Wallace says. “Replicants are the future, but I can only make so many. I have the lock and he has the key.”
“Blade Runner 2049” comes to theaters October 6.
