A woman, intoxicated and under the influence of unknown narcotics, was arrested Monday after attacking a Long Beach Police Department officer, police told KTLA.
A motorist captured the incident on video, which showed a woman shouting and threatening the police officer while erratically walking around the intersection of Anaheim Street and Pacific Avenue in California.
“You want to go my homeboy?” the woman shouted at the officer just after attempting to open the police officer’s vehicle.
The officer can be seen in the video attempting to stop the woman without force. However, after she becomes violent and begins attacking the police officer, the officer takes out his baton and strikes her with it until he can subdue her on the ground.
One person can be seen later on in the video helping the officer put her hands behind her back until other officers arrive on scene.
Long Beach Police Lt. Darren Lance told KTLA that the woman, whose identity was not released, was intoxicated and under the influence of unknown narcotics.
The video of the woman has since gone viral on Facebook with more than 7 million views as of Wednesday.
