US Air Force Special Operations Forces airmen use dirt bikes to prepare landing strip in the desert

It is important to note that the U.S. Air Force is the bigger, better, more technologically advanced and very well funded air force on the planet.

But sometimes, you need to improvise. If the past 14 years of war have taught us anything, it is that more often than not, wars are fought in very rough and inaccessible terrain. It’s not only the desert component, but the distances and severe lack of infrastructure that define the landscape of where the enemy is, and the U.S. doesn’t complain or quit.

The United States simply adapts and improvises.

This footage shows U.S. Air Force Special Operations Forces airmen working on a dirt landing strip for a C-130J Hercules from the 75th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron on June 10.

One of the special things about the C-130 Hercules is that it can land practically anywhere, as shown in the video, in a very impressive fashion.
