The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defense Exposition, also called the Avalon Airshow, is a large air show held biennially at Avalon Airport.
It is actually two concurrent events: an exhibition and trade show, followed by a public airshow.
The event has a strong focus on military aviation, featuring aircraft from the Royal Australian Air Force, United States Navy and the United States Air Force.
Representatives from other air forces have also appeared at the airshow on many occasions, including aircraft from the Royal Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force and others.
AVALON 2017 is organized by Aerospace Australia Limited, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to promote aviation and the development of Australia’s industrial, manufacturing and information/communications technology resources in aviation, aerospace and defense.
This video presents a collection of the best takeoffs of this year’s show, including some by the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor.
