While not everyone might agree with President Donald Trump’s politics, few people can debate that his wife, Melania Trump, is one well-dressed First Lady.
Melania Trump is not immersed in public life as deeply as other First Ladies have been; she appears to be a rather private person. But when she does step into the light, she is extremely hard to miss.
There is even a website – White House Wardrobe – dedicated to cataloging some of Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump’s clothing items and accessories.
From the sky blue Ralph Lauren inauguration outfit that many commented channeled Jackie Kennedy, to a recent shot from her trip abroad with the President where she is wearing a seemingly subtle white dress – with knockout red-patterned heels, the First Lady has a strong sense of fashion, and she is not afraid to show it.
“Not unlike First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania Trump is a natural in her sense of what is right for each time and place,” said Herb Kosterlitz, of Peggy Jennings Designs, whose clients are primarily first ladies. “This became clear with her wardrobe selection for the Inauguration. From the powder blue, double-face wool jacket dress to the white and black ball gown, she presented a perception of refined modernity.”
“On the recent nine-day trip to Saudi Arabia, Israel [and] the Vatican,” among other countries, Kosterlitz said, “she glided the world runways with grace and fashion that was only enhanced by her ever-present smile.”
“Surely, the wide belt constantly accessorizing and accenting her waist will become a fashion staple for every woman in the months to come,” he added. “She is a First Lady of whom every American can be proud.”
