“The Dark Tower” is a science-fantasy film written and co-directed by Nikolaj Arcel, best known for his film, “A Royal Affair.” The movie is based on the series of novels of the same name by Stephen King.
The film stars Idris Elba who plays “The Gunslinger” while Matthew McConaughey plays “The Man in Black.”
“The Dark Tower” will be a sequel to the series of novels that date back to 1982. The film is set to be released on August 4, 2017.
The film is a tale about Roland Deschain, a “gunslinger” who lives in a place called Mid-World, a world that runs parallel to our own. A black tower is at the center of the universe and Roland is pursuing it to help save his crumbling world. In the meanwhile, “The Man in Black” is also on a quest for the tower.
