An Oregon man has sadly taken Mother’s Day to a whole new level.
Joshua Lee Webb, 36, is charged with killing his mother, Tina Marie Webb, on Sunday, May 14, and also for the attempted murder on a local store clerk.
Joshua Webb allegedly walked into an Oregon grocery store covered in blood, holding a knife and carrying his mother’s head on Sunday; he then stabbed the grocery store clerk before being apprehended, according to local law enforcement officials.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department said on Monday that Joshua Webb was being held in the Clackamas County Jail.
Local press reported that customers fled the Estacada Harvest Market Thriftway after Joshua Webb came in carrying his mother’s head.
When the clerk, Michael Wagner, 66, was stabbed, he and other employees “subdued [Joshua] Webb and held him until police arrived,” according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Police were also responding to a call around that same time at the Webb home in Colton, approximately 12 miles away; this was where they found Tina Marie Webb, 59, dead, police said. Webb lived with his parents.
Reuters reported that the police did not provide any details on what led to the Mother’s Day murder.
