During their “Day Of The Sun” celebrations, North Korea showed off their Special Operations forces in an apparent show of force and defiance against those that oppose their nation.
The Korean People’s Army (KPA) special forces, armed with firearms fitted with grenade launchers and night vision goggles, were shown off at a military parade marking the 105th birthday of Kim Il-sung, the founder and former president of North Korea.
“Once Supreme Commander Kim Jong-un issues an order, they will charge with resolve to thrust a sword through the enemy’s heart like lighting over Mt. Paektu [the country’s highest point],” a broadcaster announced on North Korean state TV, according to Yonhap News Agency.
This weekend’s military parade comes amid increased tensions between North Korea and the United States.
North Korea also showed off two intercontinental ballistic missiles enclosed in canister launchers during the parade.
