On Tuesday, a man in Fresno randomly shot and killed three men as he walked around the Californian city. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said that the suspect, 39-year-old Kori Ali Muhammad, screamed “Allahu Akbar” as he gunned the victims down. The gunman is in police custody.
Dyer said that the first gunshots were detected by the automatic gun detector “Shot Spotter” around 10:45 a.m. local time. Sixteen rounds were fired in less than an hour in four different locations. The police chief said that all the victims appeared to be random. However, Dyer added that Muhammad told authorities he hated white people. All three victims were white, the Associated Press reported.
Muhammad was wanted for a previous murder at a Motel 6 in the area last week.
