Marine tactical vehicles provide Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) commanders with the protection, payload and performance to meet the demands of every mission. Designed to assault any shoreline from the well decks of Navy assault ships, AAVs are highly mobile tracked and armored amphibious vehicles that transport Marines and cargo to and through hostile territory.
In this video, U.S. Marines with the 25th Marine Regiment practice a beach landing in amphibious assault vehicles at Grayling Aerial Gunnery Range in Michigan on August of this year. The main vehicle in the video, the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV-7), can fire its eight smoke grenade launchers or its turret-mounted .50 cal machine gun and 40mm grenade launcher on land and in the water. The 25th Marine Regiment is one of three infantry regiments in the 4th Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps. The 25th Marines is primarily a cold weather regiment that commands fifteen training centers in nine states throughout the Northeast.
