Dating can be tough. But going on a date with the daughter of a combat veteran takes it to another level entirely. In a hilarious video posted to YouTube, the aptly named “Combat Veteran” offers a fun parody of what it’s like when a military man sends his little girl off on an evening out.
Check out the video below:
After answering the door with a glock in-hand, the young man and the combat vet spend some time “bonding” as the daughter gets ready.
“You going to take my daughter on a date?” the combat vet asks intimidatingly.
“I don’t know. I’m not even sure anymore,” the young man responds.
“How many push-ups can you do?” the vet asks before tossing him to the ground. With his foot on the young man’s back, he counts off. “One. One. One.”
“Me and Ryan were just bonding,” the father tells his daughter when she enters the room.
“I’m so sorry. My dad went to Iraq once and never came back normal,” the daughter explains.
“I am normal! It’s everyone else that’s r*****.” the vet fires back.
While the video is of course a satirical look at the relationship some military men might have with their daughter, it is no secret that veteran fathers are usually a little more protective over their children.
The YouTube channel, A Combat Veteran, features video skits, vlogs and short films created by Drew Hernandez.
“A Combat Veteran is a brand passionately dedicated to bringing more light and comedy to the Veteran community,” the channel description reads. “Drew Hernandez continuously turns his past experiences into opportunities by creating distinctive videos about what it means to be or to know a Combat Veteran on a weekly basis. A Combat Veteran has become renowned for being a positive influence to its viewers and has successfully done this by striving towards its mission, which is to utilize Drew’s military service experience as the tip of the spear to create comedy that brings humor and joy to the Veteran community.
