This test is insane! Navy SEAL BUD trainees must pass a 50 meter swim underwater, a grueling test of endurance that several don’t complete.
Here’s how it works. Trainees must jump in the water, do a flip, then swim the length of a 25 meter pool and back – all while staying underwater.
What is more crazy is how many pass out while swimming and need to be resuscitated by their trainers. This just shows the incredible dedication of those fighting to become a SEAL.
Swimming 50 meters may not seem like the most difficult thing to do, but having to do it all underwater and going through the harsh training these guys have to go through puts a lot of stress on them, forcing some of their bodies to have a reflex that makes them pass out.
